The Old Ways….

The Way of the Seer

Tales of the Celts are filled stories of the mystical dreamer, the seer, or the one who knows, who can look through time and into the otherworld. The seer was the intermediary between the realms, often with one foot in our reality and the other foot planted in the invisible otherworld. The seers of Celtic myth were endowed with extraordinary gifts of prophecy, wisdom and healing. The natural and supernatural forces found in the elements were their ally, and the spirits of nature whispered their magical ways in their ear. Some lived as alone in the wilderness, while others held positions of power in Celtic society.

The seers reached their height in the pre-Christian period and their stories are found in the poetry of medieval Ireland. Most widely known of all was Arthur's great seer and magician Merlin. The druids, Amairgen, Taliesin and Cathbad, are famous in Celtic myths as prophetic bards and counsellors to the clans.

Activate the Way of the Seer within you!

The Seer is one of the many archetypes, or societal roles found in humanity across all cultures. Every archetype exists inside all of us. Some archetypes are easily accessed or recognizably a role we identify with, however, others are held in our shadow or subconscious awareness. It can require courage to take a dive into our hidden archetypes as often fear, negative beliefs, emotions, and even karma are restricting access to the archetype. When we activate the archetype of the Seer we unlock the visionary wisdom within us and fall into the vibration of harmony with the earth, and the capacity to bring profound insight and understanding to our everyday.

Many of the facets of the Seer may also be found in the archetypes of Visionary, Prophet, Diviner, Mage, Clairvoyant, Oracle, or Mystic. An da shealleadh (un daa hall’la), the two sights or the second sight, is the primary gift we first associate with the Seer archetype. The Seer weaves together the invisible other world and the visible everyday world to reveal the interconnectedness of our cosmic universe. Everything in nature becomes a message, the dancing of the branches of a willow tree, the herd of deer grazing in the stillness of the morning, a rainbow hue around the full moon become the gifts of insight, answers, or guidance that was sought. In the heart of the Seer true vision and wisdom intersect and become one creating what is known as gléfiosa (glay fee’sa) or 'bright knowledge'.

After a day of adventure you dip your toes in the cold mountain water. The sound of the cascading water of the Killarney Torc Waterfall clears your intuitive centers and opens you to the constant flow of guidance from the cosmic universe.

Let’s Make it Magic

Explore the Celtic visionary methods, from second sight and prophecy to reading omens and making divinations.

Engage with interactive practice with an array of intuition-building exercises designed to give you hands-on experience using your intuition in a variety of ways.

Receive powerful guided meditations to take you deep into your intuitive nature to reveal the messages buried in the subconscious mind.

Experience sacred ceremonies to supercharge your intuition, and take it to the next level.

Take an immersive deep dive into the divination tools of the Seer, including the ancient Celtic Ogam, crystal spheres, scrying mirrors, trance, pendulums, dowsing rods, runes, oracle cards, tea leaves, and more!

See what lies behind you and before you as you walk the twists and turns at Slea Head (Cé dhún chaoin / dunquin pier), one of the finest coastal hikes of Ireland just 25 min from our residence.

Gather Together

Immerse yourself in the Celtic culture of oneness and discover your connection to everything. Experience the sense of belonging in every shared experience. Every moment of laughter, tears, transformation, and joy is made all the more exquisite in this intimate gathering of like minded souls. Find your soul family, the people who speak your language, who understand you and are ready to cheer you on through all your breakthroughs and heart opening moments in this journey of the soul. “Being born a Kerryman, in my opinion, is the greatest gift that God can bestow on any man. When you belong to Kerry, you know you have a head start on the other fellow. . . In belonging to Kerry, you belong to the elements. You belong to the spheres spinning in the heavens.”

Dissolve into the oneness and transcend consciousness in the places where heaven meets earth.

The Emerald Isle is calling you!

The Way of the Seer is an intimate spiritual destination retreat in which every part of your experience is meant to open and awaken your many intuitive gifts. This retreat has been curated to move you through all the layers of spiritual growth required to facilitate an awakening of the inner eye and unlock the archetype of the seer within us. This retreat is not intended to be a travel bucket list of Ireland, rather a trusting of the inner soul guidance found your heart and following it in an exploration of one of the most wild and magical locales of our world. Every foray out into Kerry has been crafted to enhance and cultivate a deeper integration of your learning.

Why Ireland? Ireland is the place where the unicorns, dragons, fairies and all the mystical and magical still call home. Its a place where the veil is thin that protects the Other Realms and the line between reality and magical is blurred. It is a place where the Old Ways have not been forgotten and the land is a cornucopia of ancient relics and symbols divinely designed to inspire spontaneous recall of our past to launch us into our future.

We will spend this entire retreat in southwest of the Emerald Isle, specifically in County Kerry on the Dingle Peninsula. Dingle way has been described by National Geographic as “the most beautiful place on earth.” This diverse landscape offers impressive vistas at every turn, from the crashing waves and golden sandy beaches to the iconic rolling green hills. Kerry is home to some of the oldest ruins in Europe.

This incredible raw and rough landscape has inspired major film directors to visit and capture it. For all my fellow Star Wars fans, Star Wars the last Jedi was filmed here at Skellig Michael and Slea Head. (and yes - we will travel to Slea head and get a close view of Skellig on our Blaskett Island tour). The beauty of this place is indescribable as this place is more than a view, it is a feeling that awakens and rises up inside of you. Kerry is meant to be experienced with an open heart and an awakened inner eye!

We have an epic adventure planned for you in the Emerald Isle! Register Now!

Land of the Fairies

How beautiful they are,
The lordly ones
Who dwell in the hills,
In the hollow hills…
As they keep their hosting
With laughing cries
In pale places
Under the moon.’

(Midir’s song, by Fiona Macleod. 1920)

Take a leap out of the ordinary and mundane into the world of magic and synchronicity, where the doubt of the coincidence is vanquished and the profound faith and trust in the divine plan that unfolds is revealed.

Your hand touches the cool grey stone moist still from the fairy’s early dawn dance. You breathe deeply, close your eyes and you can hear the old ones telling their stories of magic and mystery.

Kenmare Stone Circle is a 3,000 year old monument from the early Bronze Age and the most intact stone megalith circle in Ireland.

The spinning wheel spins and you step back in time at Muckross House, a traditional Victorian era estate. Your refined eye rests on the exquisite art of the local potter and weaver artisans as they create their craft. A powerful feeling of contentment washes over you after a relaxing lunch at the Garden Restaurant Taking in the magnificent views of Torc and Mangerton Mountains.

Intuition is the whisper of the soul.

Where will the road take us?

Way of the Seer Itinerary

Most of the most magical moments on retreats are the unscheduled and spontaneous gifts directly from spirit. Thus we will not be providing a detailed or day to day itinerary of the retreat in advance. We will have a balance of time for quiet solitude for reflection and renewal and time for laughter, inspiration, creativity and fun!

Meal times will often vary due to the natural evolution of each day but we promise you will never go hungry! Our food will be hearty and traditionally Irish with some more American staples for your comfort.

What our days will look like:

  • Learning tools and techniques to open your pathways of intuition and develop the ‘second sight’

  • Participation in various forms of group and individual healing (meditation, shamanic journey, sacred ceremony, and more)

  • Deep conversation, connection, and intuition play with like minded souls

  • Opportunities for some alone leisure time for journaling, meditation or rest

  • Experience the sights and magic of the land of Kerry (maybe even an encounter the little people!)

  • Connect with our helping spirits and awaken the inner archetype of the Seer

  • A visit to Dingle, for a picture of real Ireland, including local pubs and live traditional Irish music

Experience Kerry

We plan visits to the following:

Town of Dingle

Muckross House and Abbey

Dooneen Pier

Slea Head (Cé dhún chaoin / dunquin pier)

Blasket Islands

Gallarus Oratory

Killarney National Park / Torc Waterfall

Kenmare Stone Circle

3 sisters An Triúr Deirféar

Our extra special….

  • Your heart pounds with excitement as you embark on a thrilling old time carriage ride to a magical mountain waterfall.

  • Taste the salty spray and delight in the playful antics of the dolphins, whales, and grey seals on the passenger ferry 'Lady Avalon' to the Great Blasket Island / An Blascaod Mór, a rugged wild place where the veil is extra thin and myth is born.

  • Step directly into the heart of Ireland, one of the many quaint Irish pubs found in Dingle. Tradiitional Irish music greets you and your soul starts to sing. No matter what ailments or problems you enter with, after dinner and a splash of Irish whisky or a pint of Guiness, Ireland promises you will walk out with laughter in your eyes and belly.

And so many more special sacred explorations!

Feel the peace all around you as you meander along a sandy path beside fields of wildflowers where the sheep and wild donkeys graze. Emerald green land and a thalo blue sea surround the remains of the haunting abandoned cottages of the Great Blaskett Islands. The lazy grey seals sun themselves on the white pristine beach and whales and dolphins frolic among the waves. You connect in deeply to the slow pulse of the nature and inspiration flows.

Magical Wells of Healing & Prophesy

Ireland is home to more than 3,000 holy wells, each attached to their own saints, legends, and healing properties. These holy wells have been sites of worship and prayer for centuries and are still visited today by those who seek the miraculous cures offered by the waters. In Irish myth, wells and springs are depicted as originating in the Otherworld - that parallel dimension whose inhabitants have the power to control the natural forces of this world. From sources in the Otherworld, water flows into our world to fill our springs. It was believed that drinking from these holy waters or bathing in them would bestow the power of the Otherworld in the form of poetic inspiration, wisdom, or healing. Supernatural fish, especially salmon or trout, are still said to appear in a well's depths to those seeking omens for the future. The fish motif may derive from a belief that well goddesses could take the form of a fish. Also, salmon were often credited with being bearers of "iomas" - the "light that illumines" - meaning the insight and wisdom that comes from a supernatural encounter, rather than the knowledge acquired through conventional study.

With your inner eye of the seer awakened explore the history and magic of ruined castles, ancient standing stones and ‘Clocháns’ (Beehive Huts) that date back to 6000BC along the Slea Head tour. Look through the portals to the heavens and remember the wisdom of the old ways.

Spiritual abilities such as intuition, healing and mediumship are not the gifts of a select few.. They are natural ways of living that are within every person.
— Jason Nelson

The sounds of music filters onto the narrow hilly streetscape of the colorful old world town of Dingle drawing you into one of the many cozy pubs that line these cobblestone streets.

“In any traditional Irish pub you’re bound to witness that little bit of magic when somebody produces a fiddle and starts softly playing. Lo and behold, the next thing you see is someone else starting to strum a guitar. Then from out of his pocket a big hairy chap will pull a tin-whistle and before you know it you’re listening to the best of music.”
— Ger Leddin

The stunning old beauty of this place fills your senses as you sit with a 550 year old Yew tree at Muckross Abbey. This locals say this tree as old as the Abbey itself, and perhaps just as haunted. It is said to bleed if one should be brave enough to nick the bark with a knife. What isn’t as well known is that the sap of the Yew tree is blood red for several hundred years of it’s life!

Simple What to Bring List

You will receive a more detailed list closer to the retreat

Every day in Ireland brings new kind of weather. It’s often said that in Ireland, you can experience all four seasons in one day. For that reason, we advise dressing in light layers. And definitely bring rain gear.

For our outdoor adventures, we recommend wearing removable layers, as mornings may be cool and warm quickly. Wear hiking boots or shoes that are lightweight and well-vented with traction; avoid sandals or anything open-toe. Also wear good wool or synthetic hiking socks; we advise against cotton. Bring a sweater or jacket for evenings out by the fire.

Pack sunscreen, and a water bottle that you fill up and drink from constantly. It’s vital to stay hydrated.

That soft Irish mist can be deceptive when it comes to the sun. Definitely bring a sun hat and sunglasses. And expect the sun to be up much later in the night as we are traveling near the Summer Solstice.

Do be prepared to go outdoors in all weather. If you have an aversion to rain and wind, consider that a retreat on the coast of Ireland, even in the summer, might not be the right fit for you.
